LOST WORLD BAND - Of Things And Beings

2016 (Samum Publishing) - Stil: Progressive Rock

LOST WORLD BAND is a well known name in the prog-underground since the early 90s. Including the tapes and CDRs, LOST WORLD BAND has an impressive catalogue of music.

In 2016 they released their last great work 'Of Things And Beings'. It was recorded in Moscow and New York - mastermind Andy Didorenko has movd to the United States.

Didorenko pushes the music with guitar, violin and keyboards, the band creates an exciting and diverse sound, that mostly stays in the instrumental sector. You can hear the influences of KING CRIMSON, EMERSON LAKE & PALMER, YES, GENTLE GIANT and KANSAS, but the LOST WORLD BAND sounds fresh and uninhibited. The bongos and great percussion of Alexander Akimov add an extra dose of energy. A little madness from Frank Zappa or a hidden Jimmy Page-riff ('The Structure Of Madness') follow quite in line. And when Andy Didorenko is singing you hear a potential hit like in early IZZ-days ('The Time Is Still'). Unfortunately the album only lasts 45 minutes.
